WHAT PEOPLE SAY

  • “Woodland hides"

    — Thank you, the hide was amazing, I couldn’t believe how close the birds came. Next time I might try out the others, but I didn’t want to leave in case I missed something. Julia, Suffolk

  • "Norfolk in the rain”

A great day out in Norfolk, sadly no butterflies as was just too wet, but the seals were amazing and seeing Cranes was just such a bonus.

  • Woodland photography

A great day down inthe woods, plenty to see, squirrels, deer, woodpeckers, nuthatch, as well as all the antics of the tiny birds, I loved watching the Wren bathing and splashing in the pond. The slow worms , being very slow and seeing their shedded skin was fascinating. I managed to get some good photos too. The special windows in hide 1 are amazing. Thanks for a great day… bacon sarnies as well...brilliant!

  • Up close and personal

As a beginner, this was a great way to learn about woodland birds. The one way windows in the hide, enabled me to really see the birds up close, hear them and be able to observe their behaviour. It was comfortable, plenty of hot drinks and snacks. Local pub provided a nice lunch too. I will definately book again for the Spring, so i can see what young birds look like as well as see other creatures too. Thank you for my beginners guide to bird watching.

  • Along the Coast

What a day… wet and windy along the Norfolk Coast.. but the rewards were amazing, a fantastic walk, sea birds, wading birds, marsh land birds and the grand finale… watching all the Pink Footed Geese come in to land at Snettisham. An amazing experience as the thousands of birds flew into roost. A real sight to behold, with beautiful sunset too.. I would like to reurn, to see them take off at dawn… but that would be a really early start! Thank you a really great day out. will see you in 2022

  • Excitement in the hide.

Sitting in the hide, out of the wind, warm and relaxed. And then the action started,. I couldn’t believe it,. All the woodland birds , so close and yet completely oblivious to us being there. The special windows are amazing. The Woodpecker so close i could have touched it, but he just carried on pecking and preening, without a care in the world. TThe little Wren, bathing and splashing, picking up the insects and having a good feed. The squirrel, coming and almost sitting on my shoulder, I couldnt believe he couldnt see me.. even though he was looking into my eyes! It was so exciting, i just didnt know what was comng next. The anticipation that just anything could land in front of me, so when the Bullfinch popped through and the buzzard calling, i held my breath… I cant wait to go again. Even the journey along the track to the woodland, was wonderful, with fields of Lapwing, Fieldfare, hare, and in the bushes Yellow Hammer, tree sparrow and the Buzzard watching over them al! . It was a brilliant day.

  • Drama at The 2 K hide at the lake

The 2 K hide was almost overwhelming, i didn’t know where to look. The Kestrels are busy in/out feeding their young. The adults almost having a fight on the doorstep, who is going to feed first! real feathers flying. Meanwhile the youngsters squeal while waiting.. at the same time two Kingfishers fledglings appear . I don’t know where to look! Beautiful Blue babies, bobbing up and down on the stick over pond balancing on the perch, taking in their new surroundings. Drama as the Kestrels scream in.. alerting their young, the young Kingfishers duck, ready to dive. I was holding my breath . just incredible moments. ..

I wish i could stay for longer… it was a dream come true. Thank you so so much.

  • A magical experience

A wonderful day in the woods, a magical experience as the light shone through the canopy. Plenty of fauna to see, especially the birds close up from the hides. The hospitalitywas also first rate- the Sri Lankan sweet potato soup was a real tasty surprise!

  • GRUESOME but fascinating

A glorious sunny day, and lots to see in the woodland, amazing grass snakes waming in the sun, the Buzzard soaring high and then coming in to fed its young, sadly we couldnt see where the nest was, but we could hear the young squawking. Then the grusome Sparrowhawk, male, dropped in like a dart, grabbed a Chaffinch and did the deed. We were about 10ft away, and at times had to look away. After he left, the Bluetits came in and gathered up all the feathers to take to their nesting box. So one poor birds bad luck was another birds good luck.. we really enjoyed the experience. Will def come again. We also loved having our coffee made by lighting the Kelly Kettle, great fun!
